Obituary

Worcester - Melanie A. (Ridler) Desiata, 34, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on Friday, May 21, 2010, after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with colon cancer. She leaves her husband of 12 years, Robert J. Desiata; 3 children all at home, Cali, Cameron, and Chase; her parents, Rosemary B. (Lessard) and John F. Ridler; her brother, Kevin Ridler; a nephew, Jacob Tilleman , her paternal grandmother, Mary Ridler Heuer, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. She was born in Worcester and was a graduate of Burncoat Dance Magnet Program. She received degrees from Dean College in Franklin and Becker College in Worcester. She was member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagle #4311. She had a passion for dance, loved baseball, and football. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife, and sister, and friend.

Calling hours at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, will be from 5-8 p.m., Monday, May 24. The funeral will be held from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, May 25, with a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Rosary, 23 Fales Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
