Obituary

Rev. Tex Morrison Long, age 71, of Pinnacle passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at J.R. Jones in King. Mr. Long was born in Stokes County on December 3, 1938 to the late Tressie Marie Lane. Mr. Long was a man of God; he pastored a number of Churches; and served as a Missionary in the West Indies, establishing churches, building schools and orphanages. He was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Long is survived by one son and fiancée, Jason Long and Elizabeth Bowman of Pinnacle; one daughter and son-in-law Anna and Marty Nichols of Pilot Mountain; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Sherry Long, Jimmy and Della Long, Bonnie and Foy Junior Bottoms, Ella Mae and Tommy Corns, and Fred Young; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his mother, wife, Peggy Ann Long; one son, Andrew “Andy” M. Long.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Olive Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Mitch Robertson and Dr. Carl Childs officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Stone Memorial Library, PO Box 10, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or to the Nephrology Research Fund, WFBMC Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
