Cristina (Amoroso) Ruisi, of Medford, died Wednesday at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 66.
Cristina was born and raised in Palermo, Sicily, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and the late Rosalia (Bonanno) Amoroso. She came to the United States with her family in 1972 eventually settling in Medford. Cristina was devoted to her large family and many friends.
The beloved wife of Vittorio Ruisi, Cristina leaves her devoted children: Joseph and his wife Maureen of Dracut, Lorenzo and his wife Maria Elena of Lynnfield, Silvio and his wife Sandra of Newton, Josephine Gaglione and her husband Robert of East Boston, Rose Ruisi of Malden and Marcello Ruisi of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Vincent, Sabrina, Domenic, Kyle, Kenny, Nicholas, Cristina, Sophia, Victoria and Jennifer. Cristina also leaves her dear brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, May 22nd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
