Obituary

Mr. Michael F. DiMarzo, age 58 of Dracut died suddenly on Wednesday at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell. He is the Life Partner of Ruthie Janiero of Lowell and the former husband of Laurie (Murphy) Johnson. Mike was born and raised in Medford, son of the late Anthony M. and Dorothy (Guarente) DiMarzo. He is a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1969. He continued his education at Wentworth Institute. He worked as a lineman for Verizon. A fascinating man of many interests, he enjoyed Jet skiing, snowmobiling, boating, cooking, trips to Foxwoods, most sports events particularly Baseball. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserve, a member of the Dracut Civic Club, the Lowell Elks Lodge #87 and the Dracut American Legion. He will be remembered for his cooking and was reportedly the best “gravy” maker around. Friends and relatives will miss his parties in NH. and his signature sign off “Toodle Loo”. A Medford resident most of his life, he has lived in Dracut since 1987. He is survived by a daughter: Lindsay V. DiMarzo of Stoneham, two sons: Anthony M. DiMarzo of Dracut and Michael DiMarzo of Medford, a sister: Judith A. Colella and her husband Rick of Reading, Nephew of Mary V. Guarente of Reading and Irene Casella of Revere, Uncle of Christine and Joey Castelli and Richard Colella all of Reading, Grand Uncle of Alex Colella, Joseph & Jordan Castelli
A Funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street MEDFORD on Monday at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 pm. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
