Obituary

Emile G. Blier, 84, of Dartmouth died May 19, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Robinson) Blier.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George E. and Evelyn (Babineau) Blier, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life.
Mr. Blier was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
He was formerly employed as a linotype machinist by the New Bedford Standard-Times for 44 years until retirement. He was also a real estate investor.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Blier enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, George D. Blier and his wife Lisa of Dartmouth and Donald W. Blier and his wife Lynn of Westport; a daughter, June D. Goguen and her husband Robert of Rochester; 2 brothers, Henry Blier and Maurice Blier, both of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Justin, Lindsay, Trevor and Nolan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Karen Blier and the brother of the late Normand Blier.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, May 25th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be on Monday, May 24th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Nemasket Group, 56 Bridge St. Fairhaven, MA 02719.
