Igor R. Broz, 86
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Igor R. Broz passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Igor was born in Zagreb, Croatia on Nov. 15, 1923 son of the late Radislav K. Broz and Victoria (Zemljak) Broz. Educated in Zagreb and the Lago Community School in Aruba, Mr. Broz took a degree in chemical engineering from Rice University in 1944 and returned to Aruba to start his career with the Exxon Mobil Corporation, where he worked until his retirement in 1982 after assignments in New Jersey, Aruba, Switzerland and England. After retirement Igor lived in Kinnelon, NJ where he was active in the community and a key contributor at the public library and Center for Lifelong Learning. In 2009 he moved to the Edgewood Retirement Community in North Andover. He was an accomplished tennis player, skier, photographer, and painter, as well as an avid traveler and great lover of the arts.
Igor is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose L. (LeFevre) Broz and his sons, John G. Broz and his wife, Joanne (Victory) Broz of Billerica, MA and Russell L. Broz and his wife, Ellen B. Weber of Groton, MA and daughter Linda J. Flewett and her husband Thomas Flewett of Lower Hutt, New Zealand; he also leaves two grand children, Samuel Flewett of Berlin, Germany and Tristan Flewett of Christchurch, New Zealand and his brothers, Boris Broz of Haddonfield, NJ and Vladimir Broz of Ramsey, NJ.
