Louis J. “McGuirk” Realini, 91, of Beaver Street, Franklin, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Milford Geriatric Authority. He was the husband of the late Emilia C. (Mongiat) Realini, who died in 2004.
Born in Milford, June 28, 1918, a son of the late Peter and Louisa (Tamborini) Realini he was raised and educated in Milford, and lived in Franklin since 1958.
He retired in 1983 as a mechanic for the former Ray’s Auto Repair Shop in Milford, where he worked for more than 40 years.
He served in the US Army during WW II. He attained the rank of Tec/5, and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, the WW II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in January, 1946.
He was a member of the Milford Italian American War Veterans Post #40, the Plains Reunion, and a former member of the Nelligan Square Club of Milford.
He is survived by his son Peter A. Realini of Franklin.
He was the brother of the late Augusto “Gus” Realini, Millia Bligh, Erma Rossini, Rose Piscia, and Eva Realini, all of Milford.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday, May 22, at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com. Interment with military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Milford.
