Obituary

Ida May (Reid) Hall age 91, of Brockton died Thursday May 13, 2010 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Cephas A. Hall and mother of thirteen children. Mrs. Hall was born and raised in Tela, Honduras, a daughter of the late John and Henrietta (Johnson) Reid. She arrived in the United States in 1969 settling in Boston and since 1980 she had been a resident of Brockton.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Hall worked at Helping Hands in Boston. She enjoyed sewing, listening to music (particularly Jim Reeves), going out for dinner and the Red Sox. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Brockton.
Mrs. Hall is survived by three sons and seven daughters: Charles A. Hall of Sweden, Robert S. Hall of Arkansas; Leonard C. Hall of Harvest, Alabama; Lillian M. Darensbourgh and Elva V. Grant both of New Orleans, Louisiana ; Christina L. Williams of Charleston, South Carolina; Etta May Parker of Johnson, Vermont; Olivia V. Mkpanam of Randolph, and Rosa V. Hall and Julia A. Hall both of Brockton. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by three children: Maria E., Alden A. and Richard R. Hall and two sisters: Louise McFarlane and Ceita Young.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton and will host visiting hours Friday, May 21, 2010 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Service in St. Paul Episcopal Church 80 Pleasant St. Brockton, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10 am. Burial at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
