Obituary

Edward J. Mello, 93 of Medford, died Sunday after a brief illness in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford, MA.

Born in Cambridge, he lived in Medford since 1965 and formerly of Malden. He was the son of the late Mary (Ennis) and Virginio Mello. Edward was a retired Mail Handler at the South Postal Annex for 36 years and retired in 1978. After his retirement he worked at Century Bank in Medford as a Courier for 12 years. Edward served during World War II in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945. A member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree and also an Usher at the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden.

Beloved husband of Maria (Sartorio) Mello. Devoted father of Paul Mello and his partner Irene Murray of Wilmington, Julianne Saniuk and her husband Chris of Kingston, MA, and the late Robert and Richard Mello. Father in law of Mary Mello of Medford. Loving grandfather Christopher of Kingston, MA and Jared of Medford. Brother of the late Mary Jose, Georgiana, John, Arthur and Eugene Mello.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday May 20, at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10:30 AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from
9 -10 am.

Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
