Louis Costa, 75, of Pawtucket formerly of Attleboro and Taunton passed away surrounded by his adoring family on Monday May 17, 2010 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Cornell) Costa to whom he was wed for 43 years at the time of her death on August 1, 2001.
Born in Dighton, MA on November 15, 1934 he was a son of Alice (Soares) Costa and the late Cusmedo Costa. He grew up in Dighton and was educated in Dighton schools.
Mr. Costa was a retired buffer having worked for 39 years at Reed & Barton in Taunton. Following retirement he worked part time for several years at Cumberland Farms in Westborough.
Louis’s greatest gift in life was his family. They were the focal point of his life and he especially enjoyed the love of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A resident of Pawtucket for the past 20 years he had formerly made his home in Attleboro and Taunton.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his beloved and devoted children Louis Costa, Jr. and his wife Becky of Harrisburg, PA, Louise A. Taft and her husband Thomas of Pawtucket, RI, Kathleen A. Bourdeau and her husband Mike of Attleboro and Theresa A. Costa and her husband Stephen of Pawtucket, RI. He is also survived by his cherished 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 11 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday May 20th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
A funeral service will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday evening in the funeral home at the conclusion of visiting hours. Private burial will take place in Lakeville.
