Worcester – John P. Larkin, 79, of Worcester died on Sunday, May 16th in Saint Vincent Hospital.
John is survived by his wife of 49 years Dorothy J. “Dolly” (Lamothe) Larkin; two daughters Judy M. Thielman of Barton, VT and Patty J. Gilmore of Charlton, MA; a brother Joseph Larkin of Boylston, MA; a sister Margaret Larkin of Worcester and three grandchildren Emily, Abigail and Jake.
Mr. Larkin was born in Worcester son of the late Michael and Marion (Keniry) Larkin and is also predeceased by two sisters Marion and Katherine and a brother Michael.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. John worked for many years as a shoe cutter for H.H. Brown Shoe Company and Comfort Products and later as a driver for the Meals on Wheels Program.
Mr. Larkin was an avid stamp collector and reader and volunteered his time at the Worcester Public Library.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 20th at 12 noon in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
