
Whitman – James P. Pesente 23, OSSN in the United States Navy died on Saturday May 15, 2010. Home on leave since May 10, he was scheduled to join the warship U.S.S. Ford in Everett, Washington on May 22.
Jimmy was born on August 7, 1986 in Boston, MA and spent his life in Whitman, MA. He was an avid baseball player and attended Mass College of Liberal Arts from 2005-2008 where he received numerous awards for his baseball prowess.
As a member of the U.S. Navy he graduated Operations Specialist “A” School on April 22, and was looking forward to becoming a United States Navy Officer in defense of his country.
Jimmy is survived by his adoring parents John A. and Mary M. (Pacino) Pesente of Whitman, his loving older sister Christina of Wenham, his brother John M. and his fiancée Danielle Savage of Hanson, his younger sister Katie of Whitman, his niece Jade and nephew Cameron of Hanson, his paternal grandmother Doris A. Pesente of Bethel, CT. and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and his loyal and loving dog, Freckles. He was the grandson of the late John J. Pesente of Bethel CT, and the late John and Catherine B. Pacino of Quincy.
His funeral will be held Thursday May 20 at 9:00 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a mass at 10 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow at 1 PM in the MA VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday May 19 from 4-8 PM.
