Obituary

Mrs. Marion F. (Rice) Scanlon, formerly of Taunton, died Friday, May 14 in the Walden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Concord, following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John E. Scanlon. She was born 84 years ago in Clinton, Ma., the daughter of the late H. William and Mary E. (Tait) Rice. She was
educated in Clinton and had been a Taunton resident for 28 years before relocating to Fall River and then to Concord for the past several years. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Scanlon had been employed as a medical records clerk for the former Truesdale
Clinic and at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River for 15 years. She was a former communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton.
She leaves:
1 daughter: Elaine M. Curt and her husband, George of Pepperell, Ma.
1 brother: William J. Rice and his wife, Virginia of Broomall, Pa.
1 daughter-in-law: Patricia Scanlon of Swansea
1 grand nephew: Preston Urquhart of Mattapoisett
4 grandchildren: Shari Tsacogianis, Bruce Curt, Kathleen Griffin and Sean Scanlon
8 great grandchildren
several nieces and nephews
Mrs. Scanlon was also the mother of the late Robert W. Scanlon of Swansea.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Holy Family Church, 370 Middleboro
Avenue, East Taunton, on Wednesday, May 26 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne, at 2:30 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under
the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
