Obituary

WORCESTER___Veronica (Lucas) Sakalauskas, 83, of Worcester, died Monday, May 10, 2010 in Saint Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, 101 Plantation St.

She leaves her husband of 62 years, Charles P. Sakalauskas, two daughters, Linda C. Racca and her husband Ronald of Sterling and Charlene R. Sakalauskas of Worcester; two grandsons, Robert of Connecticut and Darryl of California, two great-grandchildren, Brady and Kaydyn and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and three sisters, Matthew, Anna, Joyce and Mary. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Mathew and Victoria (Skubas) Lucas and has lived in Worcester all her life.

Mrs. Sakalauskas was a homemaker. Previously, she worked in manufacturing and also worked as a waitress. She was a member of St. John’s Church and a former member of St. Casimir’s Church. Veronica enjoyed the trips to the beach every summer with the family. She liked to cook and shop and when she was younger loved to dance.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 18, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
