Marianna (Galvin) Manley of Roslindale, passed away on May 14, 2010. She was 88 years old.
Born in Malden, Marianna was very dedicated to her family. Her hobby was traveling and she travelled all over the world with her husband and children. Some of her most notable trips included traveling to JFK's Funeral Service and a trip to Europe in 1970 in which she saw almost every country in Western Europe in 6 weeks. She was indeed a world traveler, seeing North America by car and other various international destinations by air.
Marianna was the dear and devoted wife of the late John J. Manley. Loving mother of John J. “Jack” Manley Jr. and his wife Ruth of Hyde Park, Judith Coakley and her husband James Ret. B.P.D. of South Dennis and FL, Catherine Manley of Jamaica Plain and Michael Manley of Roslindale. Dear sister of Barbara Mann of Haverhill, Patricia Shea of NY, Francis Galvin of Dedham, and the late Dorothea Comerford, James Galvin, Laurance Galvin and Paul Galvin. She is the Cherished “Gram” of Tara Miller, James Coakley, Christopher Coakley and John Manley. Beloved “Great Gram” of 3 (soon to be 4). Marianna is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Marianna's Funeral will be from the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY Friday May 21, 2010 at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Theresa of Avila Chapel at 10 a.m. Visiting hours 5-8 p.m. Thursday. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Attendant parking available.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marianna’s memory may be made to Marian Manor Nursing Home 130 Dorchester St. South Boston, MA 02127.
Interment will conclude services at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
