Obituary

Worcester – Alfred J. “Guitar Al” Dearing III, of Worcester died on Wednesday, May 12th in the Umass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.

Mr. Dearing leaves behind his wife Kathleen (Woodbury) Dearing of Worcester; a son Alfred J. Dearing IV of Auburn; a brother Mark Dearing of Springfield, MA; a sister Joan Dearing of WI and a granddaughter Emma.

He was born in Springfield son of the late Alfred Dearing Jr. and Elizabeth (Reardon) Dearing and is a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Dearing worked for many years as a linesman for Verizon. He was a well known musician throughout the Worcester area and had two bands, “Tails Up Blues Band” and “Upstairs Blues Band”.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 17th from 5 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St.
