Obituary

Robert P. Mensinger Jr., 51, a longtime resident of Londonderry, NH, passed from this life, Saturday May 15, 2010, surrounded by those he loved. Robert was born in Winthrop, MA., son to the late Robert and Kathryn (Foulds) Mensinger Sr.
Mr. Mensinger was a veteran of the United States Air Force and earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the Training Ribbon, Longevity Service Ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Rifle Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon, the Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. While in the military, Robert trained patrol dogs to detect explosives. He also was a soccer player on the Air Force team while in Turkey. He coached the Londonderry Express Soccer team from 1991 until 1997. An avid outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed fly fishing, camping, jet skiing, snowmobiling, and ATVing.
He leaves his children, Patricia Mensinger and Robert P. Mensinger III both of Michigan. He also leaves his partner and soul-mate of 16 years, Sue Boppel, his siblings, Elizabeth Mensinger of North Conway, NH, Paul Mensinger of Derry, NH, Gary Mensinger, of Salem, NH, Peter Mensinger of Buffalo, NY, his grandson, Troy Gray and granddaughter, Ashlyn Asara. He leaves Sue's children whom he loved as his own, Christopher Peter Asara of Litchfield, NH, Colby Charles Boppel of Londonderry, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Monday evening from 5-8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am in the First Congregational Church of Salem, 15 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH. Donations in memory of Robert may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
