Lily Muriel Jewell Putnam, 89, Clarksville, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at Spring Meadows Healthcare Center. The remains are to be cremated. No services are planned. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born September 5, 1920 in Connecticut, daughter of the late Jesse Jewell and Lily Fellows Jewell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Verne L. Putnam. Ms. Putnam was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Hummel and Diane L. Holbert, both of Clarksville; a son, Gary P. Putnam, Massachusetts; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
