Mr. Moir Martin age 84, of Mt. Airy passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Golden Living Nursing Facility in Mount Airy. Mr. Martin was born in Stokes County on January 8, 1926 to the late Ezra and Jodie Leigh Owens Martin. Mr. Martin worked as a carpenter and was of the Baptist Faith. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Nelda Reynolds Martin of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Teresa Martin of Westfield, one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Johnny Moss of Westfield; three grandchildren, Matthew Martin, Carrie Goins and Samantha Gabriel; two great grandchildren, Caleb Moss and Jacob Goins; one brother and sister-in-law, Reid and Mary Martin of Mt Airy. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raeford Martin; one sister, Ethelene Corns and one great-grandson, Brandon Moss. A Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Brown Mountain Church at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery with full Military Honors by VFW Post 2019 of Mt Airy and VFW Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham.
