Carol A. (Hixson) Herrick 70, of Franklin, died Thursday May 13, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family, following an brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Francis N. Herrick for 54 years.
Born in Norwood, January 23, 1940, a daughter of the late Richard M. and Eunice C. (Delaney) Hixson, she had lived in East Walpole for many years before moving to Franklin over 50 years ago.
She was educated in Walpole schools, and until her retirement worked as a secretary for the Gloucester Company in Franklin. She also worked for many years at the former King Philip Ballroom in Wrentham.
Carol enjoyed being with her family, crocheting, attending yard sales, and was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son; Richard F. “Rick” Herrick of Franklin, and a daughter Debbie J. O’Brien of Bellingham, a sister; Joyce M. Giesecke and her husband Jerry of New Hampshire, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday May 17th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, followed by a funeral service in the Franklin United Methodist Church 82 West Central St. at 10AM.
Interment will follow at the family lot in Union Street Cemetery.
Calling hours are Sunday from 4-8PM.
The family requests that if you were the recipient of a scarf made by Carol that you please wear it to either the wake or funeral to honor her memory.
