New Bedford – Carol V. (Hill) Blair, 84, of E. Freetown passed away May 12, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Robert B. Blair, Jr.
Mrs. Blair born in E. Freetown, daughter of the late Howard N. and Dorothy (Villiers) Hill, and was a lifelong resident of the town. She was an active member of the E. Freetown Congregational Christian Church, which she loved. She was employed for 29 years as a teacher by the Freetown Public School System where she taught 4th and 5th grades. She was Past President of the Ladies Friendly Circle, Past Vice President of the Freetown Woman’s Club, Past Secretary of Chace Cemetery Committee, and organizer of the Apponequet After Prom Party for many years. She was a member of the E. Freetown Grange, E. Freetown Seniors, E. Freetown Historical Society and the 5 C’s Couples Club. She found enjoyment in baby sitting her great-grandchildren, swimming, cooking, reading, collecting swans, traveling to Cape Cod, and most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters: Patricia A. Miller, widow of David Miller, of Lakeville and Katherine D. Curneen and her husband Patrick J. of Lakeville; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
She was mother of the late Virginia B. Blair and sister of the late Betty M. Boehler.

Funeral services on Monday, May 17. 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the E. Freetown Congregational Christian Church, 2 Washburn Road, E. Freetown.

Interment in Chace Cemetery, E. Freetown.
