PUTNAM, CT - Eileen E. (Rocheleau) Levasseur, 67, of Ballou St., died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves 5 children: Veronica A. Ryan and her husband Andrew of Richmond Hills, VA, Dwayne A. Levasseur and his wife Theresa of Dudley, MA, Elizabeth L. McEwen and her husband Steven of Jewett City, Michael D. Levasseur of Putnam, with whom she lived, and Lisa Germain and her husband James of Jerman, PA; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a dear companion of 30 years, Joseph Karpenski of Putnam; 4 brothers, Edward and Peter Rocheleau of North Oxford, MA, David Rocheleau of Daytona, FL and Donald Rocheleau of Worcester, MA; a sister, Elaine Candiano of Andover, MA; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Eugene Rocheleau.
She was born in Worcester, MA and raised in North Oxford, a daughter of Emile and Elsie (Carlson) Rocheleau. She lived in Webster, MA for many years before moving to Putnam in 1997. She attended Oxford High School.
She was a supervisor for the Commonwealth of Mass. Department of Mental Health for 15 years. She then was an inspector at Gentex Corporation in Dudley until 1997.
She will be sadly missed by her family. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will always be cherished.
The funeral will be held Monday, May 17, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, May 16, in the funeral home.
