Mildred (Souza) Manderfield age 85 of Fall River, passed away May 13, 2010. Former wife of Anthony Proto, she was born in Fall River and was daughter of the late Constantino and Mary (Dias) Souza. Before retiring, Mildred was a Manager of Housekeeping Services at the Sheraton Islander Hotel on Goat Island, Newport. Previously, she worked at Frito Lay in Fall River. Mildred was a former member of St. Michael Church.
She is survived by 3 children: Donna Tommer of Berkley, Wayne Proto of Providence and Glenn Proto of E. Taunton; 1 sister: Sophie Estrella of Fall River; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late Manuel and Constantino Souza, Irene Bonalewicz, Diane Oliveira, Leigh Carr and Mary Nobrega.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main S. Monday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 4-8 P.M.
