NEW BEDFORD — James Vincent Lawlor, age 82, formerly of Ocean Street in New Bedford, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Bedford Village Nursing Home.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late James and Alice Galligan Lawlor and was a life long area resident.
James was a graduate of New Bedford High School and a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. During World War II, he served in the United States Air Force and during his life was employed in the landscaping field with various firms.
Survivors are cousins, Susan Price, Anne Cloukey, Elizabeth Pepin, Martha DeGrazia, Lawrence, James, Donald, and Jerimiah Galligan and Thomas Ohnesorge.
His funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 14th at 10 A.M., in St. Francis of Assisi Church followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
