Russell G. "Duke" Dufresne 76 of 17 Highland St., died Sunday Oct. 19 at The Meadows of Leicester. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Sue (Bledsoe)Dufresne,two sons Russell W. Dufresne of Wheelwright, and Kenneth P. Dufresne of Spencer, three daughters Cathie J. Grenier of Spencer, Sally J. Ducharme of Clermont, Fl., and Carol A. Johnson of Plymouth, two brothers Albert Hawthorne of Sunnyvale, Calif and Frederick Hawthorne of Ft.Worth, Tx., two sisters Dorothy Mack of Quinebaug, Ct. and Patricia Germaine of Worcester, 9 grand, 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dufresne was proprietor of several area lounges including Sue-Due's in Spencer and The Plateau Lounge in Warren for many years. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and a member of the Gaudette-Kirk Post 138 American Legion inSpencer. Born in Warren, he was the son of Frank and Laura (Dufresne) Hawthorne.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer.
