John A. Steigner age 82 passed away peacefully May 10th at the Milton Hospital. John spread warmth & love to all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Born in Ohio, he was raised in Germany and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He attended Coyne Electrical Institute and graduated from Northeastern University. He was a Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer and worked for Ganteaume & McMullen. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24 & Canton Town Club. He has lived in Canton since 1959. Beloved husband of the late Catherine (Donahue), Anne (Sullivan) & Anne (McDonald). Father of Patricia “Patty” Collins & her husband Bob of Brockton & their children Gregory Collins & his wife Sarah, Jennifer & Hilary Collins. Step-father of Kathy Baldacchino, Carole O’Toole, Karen Hanson, Mary Wardrop, Dianne Monaghan & Adelle Clark. Also survived by grandchildren Christie Dow, Malynda Magee, Jenn Greim & Mark O’Toole & other extended family. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Friday morning at 10:30. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veteran’s Service Department 801 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
