Alice D. (Hoyt) Renaud, 94, of Chester, NH, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Born in Haverhill, MA on October 18, 1915, a daughter of the late Clifton M. and Louise (Harriman) Hoyt, Sr., she was a resident of Chester for the past 50 years, formerly living in Medford, MA. Alice was raised in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School in 1933. In 1935, she married Arthur Renaud, also a resident of Haverhill. Alice was a member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church. Alice holds the Boston Post Cane for being Chester's oldest citizen. During her lifetime, she enjoyed traveling extensively.
She is survived by five children; Alfred Renaud and his wife Carol of Concord, NH, Allan Renaud and his wife Carolyn of Chester, Alvin Renaud and his wife Rita of Woodbridge, VA, Anita Ewbank and her husband Ralph of Raymond, SD, and Audrey Renaud and her husband Dave Dohse of Dixie, WA. She has 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, May 13th from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 16th at 2:00pm in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, 258 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry.
