Obituary

Charles J. Stasinos, a lifelong resident of Plymouth, passed away suddenly on May 9th at the age of 85. The beloved husband of Toula (Sackley) of Plymouth, he is survived by his children Paul C. Stasinos and his wife Patricia A. and their children Haley, Sara and Peter; Carol A. Stasinos and her children Spencer and Gaines; and James C. Stasinos and his wife Patricia and their children Charles, Nicholas, Jonathan, James, Tyler and Chloe. He was the brother of the late Nicholas J. Stasinos. Charles graduated from Plymouth High School and worked in his father’s restaurant, Jim’s Restaurant, through high school. Charles enlisted in the U.S Navy in 1943 and served during WWII. He served in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS South Dakota and received the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with 9 stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 stars. After the war he returned to work at his father’s restaurant. In 1953, he co-founded Massasoit Vending Service, Inc. with his late brother Nicholas J. Stasinos, which they successfully operated until they retired in 1993. One of the founding members of the Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation, a member of the Plymouth Lions Club, member of the Masons FM & AM, member of the Plymouth Yacht Club, and a founding member of the Wood Chucks. Charles enjoyed boating and spent most of his retirement wood working and he along with the Wood Chucks built many toys over the years which they donated to various charities. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 14th at the Christ Episcopal Church, 149 Court St, Plymouth at 10 AM followed by burial at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth on Thursday, May 13th from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations in his memory be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701-4688 or to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210
