Rev. Mitchell Ray Pruitt, age 63, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Surry county on May 18, 1946 to the late Amos Taylor and Alene Simmons Pruitt.Rev. Pruitt was a Baptist Minister and was a pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 24 years; he was previously employed by Proctor-Silex; and a past member of the Mt. Airy Jaycess.Rev. Pruitt is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann (Ron) Hutton of Roanoke, Va., and Linda Faye Pruitt of Mt. Airy; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (Tony) Barbour of Roanoke, Va, Darron (Teresa) Pruitt of State Road and Michael C. Hutton of Roanoke, Va.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Mt. Zion Church at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Billy Blakeley, the Rev. Odell Sisk and Bro. Gary Allen officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery.Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt.
