Joyce A. (Laliberte) Mucciarone 77, of Franklin, died Saturday May 8, 2010 at Milford Regional Medical Center, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Nicholas B. Mucciarone, who died in 1994.
Born in Woonsocket, April 12, 1933 a daughter of the late Joseph and Leona (Dyke) Laliberte, she was raised and educated in Franklin, and lived here most of her life.
She retired from the McGill Box Company in Plainville, where she worked as an assembler. She also worked for the former Homer Alden Jewelry Company, and DeBaggis & D”Errico Bakery in Franklin. More recently, she provided day care to many Franklin family children.
She was a member of the Medway VFW Auxiliary, the Franklin Senior Citizens, and a former active member of the Franklin Rangerettes. She was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary’s Church, and was active with the Our Lady of Hope and the St. Rocco festival. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
She is survived by a son; Nicholas M. Mucciarone of Worcester, two daughters; Barbara A. Mucciarone of Franklin, and Dawn M. McCollum of Franklin, with whom she lived, five brothers; Eugene Laliberte of Oakland, RI, Wallace and Philip Laliberte of Lousiana, Donald Laliberte of Franklin, and Leslie Laliberte of New Hampshire, a sister Barbara Bartolomei of Brewster. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Santiago “Jimmy” Garza, Nicholas M. Mucciarone, Tia-Marie Garza, and Brittni D. Bressan, and three great grandchildren Wesley Garza, Clayton Garza and Hunter Garza.
She was the mother of the late Cathy M. Mucciarone, the grandmother of the late Brianna Lyn Bressan, and the sister of the late Gerald & Roland Laliberte, Doris Swahn, and Gloria Moreau.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday May 12th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
