Salem, NH- Marcelle M. (Dube) Devine, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Lawrence on April 15th 1936, Marcelle was the daughter of Ludger and Clairina (Lafond) Dube. She was educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of St. Anne’s High School class of 1955.
Marcelle loved her family and would always look forward to any family gathering. Marcelle worked for many years in the Lawrence School System as a teacher’s aid and substitute teacher. For 5 years, she worked at Analog Devices in Wilmington until her retirement.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed nothing more than spending her time with her family. She was actively involved in her grandchildren’s lives, even volunteering at their schools. She was a communicant of St. Monica’s Church and also a member of their choir, and prior to that a communicant and member of the choir at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Methuen. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida to visit family, and taking occasional trips to the beach.
Marcelle will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her husband of 51 years, James W. Devine, her five children, Steve F. Devine and his wife Sherry of Norton, MA, Scott R. Devine and his wife Deanna of Andover, Cathy A. Spinney and her husband Peter of Bradford, Shawn P. Devine and his wife Marlene of Andover and Kelly J. Blackburn and her husband Robert of Methuen. She will also be deeply missed by her 13 grandchildren, Eric, Jeffrey, Michael, Brooke, Kacie, Jenna, Joshua, Adam, Matthew, Zachary, Amanda, Tyler and Nina and also her 6 Siblings, Theresa Boie, Clairina Currier, Helen Desfosses, Gerard Dube, Armand Dube and Richard Dube, as well as many nieces and nephews and close friends, to numerous to name. She was also predeceased by her 7 siblings, Jeanette Riches, Arthur Dube, Lionel Dube, Cecile Gaudes, Roland Dube, Ludger Dube and Robert Dube.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St., in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday morning, at 9am at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover. MA.
