Johnnie B. “Jay”. Gibbs, Jr., 52, of Alma, Georgia died Sunday, May 09, 2010 at the Bacon County Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Ben Hill County with the Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. officiating.
Mr. Gibbs was born was born September 30, 1957 in Ben Hill County, Georgia to Alice Carey Gibbs and the late Johnnie Blue Gibbs. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School and attended ABAC. He was a Guard at the Prison in Nichols, GA and was a former employee of Stone Oil Company, Walmart Distribution Center and Dorminy Brothers. Mr. Gibbs was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his Mother, Alice C. Gibbs of Fitzgerald; Friend: Alvin Griffin of Fitzgerald; Former Wife: Angie Gibbs of Nichols, GA; Stepchildren: Vikki Kitchens, Kristi Smith, and Jackie Fred Smith, all of Nicholls; Step-grandchildren: Dustin Kitchens, Chad Kitchens, Jessica Kitchens and Jacob Levi Smith all of Nicholls, GA; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
