Obituary

WEBSTER - Gertrude C. (Odermann) Morse, 88, formerly of Thompson, CT, died Friday, May 7, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center after a long illness. Her husband of 38 years, G. Latham Morse, Sr., died in 1995.

She leaves 2 sons, Robert Skopek and his wife Joyce of Mansfield, CT and G. Latham Morse, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Aaron, Shauna and Bryant; nieces and nephews.

She was born and raised in Manchester, CT, a daughter of John and Mary C. (Berrang) Odermann. She lived in Tarrytown, NY from 1957 to 1976, when she moved to Thompson, CT. She lived at Christopher Heights in recent years.

Mrs. Morse was the secretary for the attorney of the State of Connecticut Department of Public Works for 20 years. She then was assistant manager at Beneficial Finance Company in Tarrytown for 19 years before retiring.

She was a member of the Church of the Reconciliation in Webster, where she sang in the choir.

The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 11, in the Church of the Reconciliation, 5 North Main Street. Burial will be in East Thompson Cemetery, Thompson. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, May 10, at the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
