TEWKSBURY - Virginia C. (Kingsbury) Manning, age 87, a WWII Navy Veteran, died Friday afternoon, May 7, at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest F. Manning.
She was born in Chelsea, on October 12, 1922, a daughter of the late Homer A. and Sarah (O'Hanley) Kingsbury. She lived the greater part of her life, and raised her family in Tewksbury. Most recently, she was a member of the Delaney Drive "Flucker Heights" Senior Community in Tewksbury.
She is survived by four children, Deborah Manning of Plaistow, NH, Greg Manning of Derry, NH, Tim Manning of Plaistow, NH, and David Manning of Lawrence, KS; a daughter-in-law, Catherine (Blacker)(Colgrove) Manning of Hudson, NH; five grandchildren, Timothy Brian Manning Jr., Danielle V.M. Bedard, Derek E. Bedard, Christine Colgrave, and Casey R. Manning; two great grandchildren, Adam and Liah; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Eva V. Kane of FL, Elsie M. Smythe of No. Reading and Audrey June Litchfield and her husband Robert of FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Homer A. Kingsbury Jr., and his wife Constance of Somerville, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
At her request funeral services are private.
