Sophie J. (Dargwonis) Herman, 98, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Monday, May 3. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Herman, Sr and the sister of the late Elizabeth “Stella” Wallan, Frances Dargwonis, Konstanto Dargwonis, Walter Dargwonis and Louise Sustavige. Born and educated in Norwood, she was a resident of Stoughton for 57 years. Mrs. Herman was a homemaker. In her free time she enjoyed writing, drawing and art.
Mrs. Herman is survived by her sons, Dennis F. Herman and his wife Nancy of East Wakefield, NH and Frank J. Herman, Jr. and his wife Ann of Foxborough. She was the proud Grandmother of Denise Siracusa, Michael Herman, Suzanne Stuke and Lisa Herman all of Roslindale, Christopher Herman of Norwood, Jeffrey Herman of Medway, Melissa Herman of Foxborough and William Herman of Jamaica Plain. Sophie was the Great Grandmother of Laura, Lindsay and Mark Herman all of Norwood, Kevin and Matthew Herman, Samantha, Robert and Adam Stuke all of Roslindale and Kristie and Joseph Herman of Medway. She is also survived by 4 nieces and nephews, including Peter Wallan of Sharon.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton, on Saturday, May 8 at 8 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Donations in Sophie’s memory may be made to the charity of your own choice.
