Jeffrey R. Lawrence, 57, of New Bedford died Friday April 30, 2010 at home.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Hilda (Jason) Lawrence of Dartmouth and the late Charles C. Lawrence, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Lawrence was formerly employed as a boat builder for various boat yards.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army. He was active in martial arts and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother; two daughters, Heather Lawrence and Sandra Lawrence, both of New Bedford; his adopted son and caregiver, Xavier Cardona of New Bedford; a brother, Philip Lawrence of Dartmouth; two sisters, Brenda Mahoney and Sandra Houlihan, both of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Jaynia Cardona, Sakari Cardona, and Mahkai Simpson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his extended family and friends.
He was the brother of the late Robert Lawrence.
