Obituary

Jane Judson Hall ,79, of Needham died of a stroke on May 1, 2010. Although stricken with paralytic MS forty years earlier greatly restricting her mobility, she, together with her husband of 60 years, Robert D. Hall Jr., raised a family of six children and then she continued to shower her love and affection on 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was a valued advisor to her husband when he established a business working out of their home in Needham and later when he entered politics.

Her children are Christina Frado and her husband John of Winchester, NH, Karen Hasenfus and George of Dedham, MA, Michael Judson Hall and his wife Elaine of Powhatan, VA, Johanna Hall Farnum and her husband Charles of Mary Esther, FL, Robert D. Hall III and his wife Donna of Berlin, MA and Andrew J. Hall and his wife Kendra of Hinsdale, NH.

Jane was born in Kingwood, WV, on August 30, 1930. Her father who was with the U.S. Corps of Engineers was frequently transferred so Jane lived in WV, PA, TX, NY and RI, before coming to Needham in 1947. She graduated from Needham HS in 1948 and then attended Pierce Secretarial School in Boston. She and her husband Robert were married in St. Joseph’s Church in Needham in 1950. They then lived in Providence, RI, and East Haven, CT before returning to Needham in 1956 where Jane created a home filled with love and happiness for both her family and her many friends who often sought her wisdom and bountiful love and could always turn to her in time of need. She was always with a book and kept her reading glasses handy on a cord around her neck. Her interest were widespread and her knowledge broad so she could converse on almost any subject but her favorites were politics and American government plus always being ready to offer good advice when needed or requested. She never hesitated to speak her mind and was usually right.
