Robert H. Purvis, 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Friday, April 30, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, May 3, 2010, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Purvis was born March 4, 1934 in Ocilla, GA to the late Pearley Bud and Bertha Tucker Purvis. He was a former mechanic for Irwin Motor Company and a former employee of Mobley Sausage Company. He attended Irwin County Schools and was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Mr. Purvis is survived by his wife, Janice R. Purvis of Fitzgerald, GA; Daughters: Peggy Lee (Jeffery) Brady of Martin, GA and Aniece (Gil) Waldron of Fitzgerald; 2 grandchildren: John Ashe and Andrew Ashe; Step-children: Tim (Denise) Branch and Jimmy Lee Branch of Fitzgerald and Tommy Lynn Branch of Pearson, GA; Brother, Ed Purvis of Ocilla; sister, Allene Mobley of Damascus, GA.
