Martha (Shaw) Coury, 92, of Fairhaven died Tuesday April 27, 2010 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Maurice Coury.
Born in Middleboro, the daughter of the late W. Henry and Irene (Randall) Shaw, she lived in Mattapoisett and Fairhaven for many years.
Mrs. Coury formerly operated a garden shop out of her home and was a waitress at the former Nest Restaurant in Mattapoisett.
She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and acting in local theater productions.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Perry and his wife Kathleen and David Perry and his wife Luanne, all of Bellingham; a daughter, Brenda Mull and her husband William of Weirton, WV; three sisters, Elizabeth Thomas of Middleboro, Edith Greene of Danvers, and Ruth Letendre; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Susan Perry, and sister of the late Robert and Marion Shaw.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 3-6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett.
