Zelda Cherry 88, passed away on April 27, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was born in Beverly and resided in Revere for all of her life. Zelda attended the Revere schools, and graduated from Revere High School and was also a graduate of Boston University. She was a retired secretary for the real estate industry. Zelda was an active member of Temple B’nai Israel of Revere for over 50 years. She was the Vice President and a life long member of her local Hadassah. Zelda volunteered as a travelers aid for 30 plus years.
Zelda was the devoted mother of Howard Cherry, Elyse Cherry and Deborah Cherry. She was the dear sister of Pearl Zassman. Zelda was the loving grandmother of Jacob and Rebecca. The family sends a sincere thank you to Zelda’s special care takers; Mrs. Ari, "Jing-a-Ling", Shena and Whitney.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave, Cary Square, CHELSEA on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Interment in Everett. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Deborah Cherry on Friday from 1-8pm, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 1-5 & 7-9pm.
