New Bedford – Beatrice M. (Brayton) Gallop, 80, of New Bedford died at Sacred Heart Home on October 22, 2003 after a long illness. She was the widow of William G. Gallop, Sr.
She was born in Dartmouth daughter of the late Alden C. and Florence (Potter) Brayton and resided in the greater New Bedford area all of her life. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, New Bedford. She was employed for many years as a Nurse’s Aide by the Taber Street Nursing Home, New Bedford and later as a switchboard operator & receptionist by Sacred Heart Home, New Bedford until her retirement.
Mrs. Gallop was a member of the former Bristol County Farmers Club of America.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Diane L. Offley and her husband John of New Bedford and Christine A. Gallop of New Bedford; 2 sons: William G. Gallop, Jr. and his wife Mary Lou of New Bedford and George E. Gallop of New Bedford; a brother: Gardner P. Brayton and his wife Irene of Dartmouth; a sister: Ruth H. Howes of Ft. Myers, FL; a granddaughter: Jennifer L. Corey of New Bedford; and several cousins, nieces & nephews. She was a dear friend of the late Louis Pina.

Funeral service Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
