Obituary

Pauline F.(Guilmette) LeMay, age 95, of Mystic, passed away Monday at Mystic Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. LeMay was born in Fitchburg, MA on April 23, 1915 the daughter of Arthur and Victoria Guilmette. She was raised in Pawtucket, RI where she attended local schools.

A resident of Old Mystic and Mystic for over 50 years, she began her work career at the age of 16 at Davol Rubber Company. She later worked at Toggle Hollow Greenhouses in Old Mystic, the Sirtex Priniting Co. in Old Mystic where she was the first woman hired there. She retired from the former Gingham Gate in Mystic in 1986 at the age of 78.

Mrs. LeMay was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Mystic. Known for her love of gardening, she will be remembered for her flower gardens, her cooking and baking skills, sewing, and spending time with the elderly.

She was married to Harry E. LeMay in Biddeford, ME in 1938. He passed away on July 11, 1986.

She is survived by her longtime friend and caregiver, Ruth G. Williams of Mystic; as well as nieces and nephews.

Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 10am-11:45am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12noon at St. Patrick Church. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mystic Manor Patient Recreation Fund, 475 High Street, Mystic CT 06355.
