A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday October 27 at 12pm at St. Anthony's Church, 129 South Main Street, Cohasset. Visiting hours are omitted. Interment is private. Obituary
Mr. Chase died at home on October 21 after a lengthy and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was the husband of 56 years of Claire (Richards) Chase. For the past 25 years he was a resident of Cohasset, formerly living many years in Brockton and summering in Scituate.Mr. Chase was born and educated in Canton, the son of the late Francis G. Chase and Mary (Griffin) Chase. He was a graduate of Canton High School class of 1939 and attended the University of New Hampshire. During World War II he served as Captain in the US Army Air Force in the European Theater. Mr. Chase was a founder of Chase Corporation where he served as Treasurer and President of the company until 1988. From 1988 until January 2003 he continued to actively serve as President Emeritus and Director of Chase Corporation. He was past chairperson of Catholic Charities of the Old Colony area; past trustee of Brockton Hospital; a director of South Shore Bank; past director of S.H.A.R.E. of New England (Now S.E.R.V.E.) and a member of the Associated Industries of Massachusetts. Mr. Chase was a communicant of Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham.
