Carie L. (Pierce) Gianatasio, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of Kevin S. Gianatasio, died at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday evening, April 23, 2010. She was 55 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on May 26, 1954, Carrie was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest M. and Rita (Mick) Pierce. She was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1972. Mrs. Gianatasio was also a graduate of the Winthrop School of Nursing and worked for many years as an LPN. She was a homemaker, in more recent years, caring for her beloved family. She enjoyed gardening at her lovely home in Medford and vacationing in North Conway, New Hampshire, with her husband and family. She also enjoyed cooking and had a wonderful sense of humor and always looked for the good in every situation. Above all, Carrie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be sorely missed by her beloved husband Kevin S. Gianatasio of Medford, loving children; Gregory P. LaValle of NH, Rita L. LaValle of Medford, Eric S. LaValle of Hampton, NH, Daniel W. LaVelle of Saugus and Ruth I. Gianatasio of Revere, sister; Darlyne R. and her husband Douglas Rodgers of Medford and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Community Baptist Church 470 Fulton St., Medford, Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held on Monday, April 26, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
