CHELMSFORD, MA: Grace (Masiello) Bargardo, age 87, of Chelmsford, formerly of Nashua, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford.
She was the beloved wife of 48 years to Francis A. "Frank" Bargardo, who passed away on May 29, 1994.
Born in Boston on June 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Gabriele and Charlotte (Zizza) Masiello.
Grace was raised in Everett , and graduated from Everett High School. She later attended Fay Secretarial School of Boston.
Mrs. Bargardo served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was honorably discharged from active duty on March 8, 1946 having earned the rank of Yeoman Second Class.
She was employed at the former Waltham Supermarket and later worked at the Marshalls Department Store in Nashua.
Grace resided in Tewksbury, Dunstable and Pompano Beach, FL until moving to Nashua, NH
She enjoyed traveling with her late husband and their close friends.
Grace is survived by one son, Frank A. Bargardo and his wife Nancy of Nashua, NH; two daughters, Gina B. Lynch of Charlestown, MA and Cynthia Gerttula and her husband Russell of Nashua, NH; also seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
At the request of the family funeral services were private.
