Mrs. Helen (Willette) Machado, of East Taunton, died Saturday, April 24 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Alfred Machado. She was born 90 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Maxime and Delia (Morin) Willette. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from
the former St. Mary’s High School, and had been a lifelong East Taunton resident. A homemaker for much of her life, Mrs. Machado had formerly been employed by the Chartley Sterling Company in Taunton for several years. An accomplished cook, she especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and spending time with her
family. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton.
She leaves:
2 daughters: Helen Legere and her husband, Frank of East Taunton
Mary Santos of Taunton
2 sons: Steven Martin of Taunton
Richard Martin and his wife, Jeanne of Rehoboth
2 brothers: Albert Willette and his wife, Irene of Florida
Alfred Willette and his wife, Virginia of Maine
several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Mrs. Machado was also the mother of the late Carol Burch of Taunton, and the sister of the late Ida Furtado of East Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Thursday, April 29 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Ceme-
