Obituary

Carmela “Millie” (Grungo) Ciccotelli passed away on April 25, 2010 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Reading after a brief illness. She was 94 years old.

Born in Boston, Carmela grew up in Malden and was a longtime resident of Ipswich. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved her crossword puzzles.

Carmela was the devoted wife of the late Joseph F. Ciccotelli Sr. She was the beloved mother of Joyce Lennon and her husband Thomas of Reading, Maryann Ferragamo of Malden and her late husband Anthony and Joseph Ciccotelli Jr. and his wife Margot of Ipswich. Carmela was the loving sister of Anthony Grungo of Malden and the late Josephine Ruggiero and John and Peter Grungo. She was the cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, April 28th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, April 27th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmela’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-4688 or Wingate Nursing Home, c/o Resident Council, 1364 Main Street, Reading, MA, 01867.
