Cecelia (Maloof) Connolly, of Arlington, formerly of Brighton, passed away on April 24, 2010. She was 81 years old.
Born in Boston, Cecelia was a lover of life and a fighter who never gave up in the face of adversity. She always encouraged her children and grandchildren to follow their dreams and do whatever it was that made them proudest of themselves. She had a great sense of humor and loved to keep busy, spending time with her family, attending bingo games and making the occasional trip to the casinos.
Cecelia was the dear and devoted wife of the late Irving W. “Bill” Connolly. Loving mother of William “Billy” Connolly of Arlington and his late wife Lucille and Linda Collins and her husband Michael of Arlington. Cherished Grandmother “ThaTha” of Michael Collins, Meghan Soens and her husband Peter and Caitlin Collins. Great ThaTha of Ashley Joan Soens. Dear sister of Mary Teebagy and her husband Tony of Somerville, George Maloof of Somerville and the late Charles Maloof. Dear sister-in-law of Roberta Maloof of Somerville. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Cecelia's Funeral Service was held in the Church of St. John of Damascus, 300 West St. (Rte 135W at Rte 95/128 Exit 17) DEDHAM Tuesday April 27, 2010. Contributions in Cecelia’s memory, may be made to the Church or to the VNA of Eastern Mass. 259 Lowell St. Somerville, MA 02144.
Interment concluded services at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
