MILFORD—Claudia B. Romoska 96, died peacefully Sunday April 18, 2010 at Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center, following a prolonged illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Romoska. Claudia was born and raised in Claremont, N.H. She is the daughter of the late Alexander and Agatha (Barbaric) Belkovicz, and she outlived her siblings John, Walter and Nida Eaton.
Claudia was proud to have served in the US Navy as a Hospital Apprentice First Class. A veteran of WWII, she served at the US Marine Corp. Air Station in Edenton, North Carolina, where she met and married Joseph “Joe” Romoska, a Navy seaman.
Claudia and husband Joe, lived most of their lives in Norwood, MA, where Claudia enjoyed raising her children, knitting, gardening, and visiting Nantasket Beach in the summer.
Claudia is survived by two daughters; Josephine R. Taylor of Franklin, MA, and Susan Ayers Walker of Atherton, CA, and her grandchildren Danielle (Taylor) Childers of Baytown, TX, Courtney Taylor of Franklin, MA, and Rebecca Ayers of Melbourne, FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral with military honors Saturday May 1, 2010 at 1:00PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.franklinfuneral.com. A calling hour period will be held prior to the service from noon to 1PM.
