Obituary

Iline M. (Correia) Golda, 82, of Dartmouth died Thursday April 22, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late William J. Golda.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel T. and Alice (DeMelo) Correia, she lived in Dartmouth for many years.

Mrs. Golda was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for Peirce the Florist and McKesson Liquor Company. She also had been the program director for the Hazelwood Senior Center.

She was a member of the Emblem Club of Lodge 73, and had been a poll worker for the Town of Dartmouth Precinct 4.

Survivors include three children, Wayne Golda of Dartmouth, Diane Niles and her husband Gary of Fairhaven, and Susan Furtado and her husband Frank of Dartmouth; a brother-in-law, John Golda of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Sherman Peterson Jr., Curt Peterson, and Douglas Furtado; three great-grandchildren, Cassidy Lima, Kaelyn Peterson, and Brayden Furtado; two niece, Linda Lopes and Deborah Vynalek; and two nephews, Richard Correia and Daniel Golda.

She was the sister of the late Manuel Correia, Jr.

Her Committal Service will be held on Thursday at 9 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
